Server Backup

1. Docker Volumes and Compose

LXC

  1. SSH into LXC: ssh monitor
  2. Update and upgrade packages: sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y
  3. Reboot the system: sudo reboot

VM and Raspberry Pi

  1. SSH into VM: ssh pi
  2. Update and upgrade packages: sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y
  3. Navigate to scripts directory and run zip script: cd ~/scripts/zip && ./zip.sh
  4. Verify backups: ls -l /media/truenas/Sid/Backups/zips/
  5. Reboot the system: sudo reboot
  6. List of VM's: media ai minecraft network apps smtp test

2. Habits (Habitrove)

  1. Create a new folder on NAS: /media/truenas/Sid/Backups/Habitrove/{current_date}
  2. SSH into apps server: ssh apps
  3. Copy Habitrove data: cp -r /home/apps/docker/habittrove/data /media/truenas/Sid/Backups/Habitrove/{current_date}

3. FreshRSS

  1. Access FreshRSS: https://rss.dembi.xyz
  2. Navigate to Subscription Management.
  3. Click Import/Export > Export and save the file to the backup folder.
  4. Select Download SQLite and save it to the backup folder.

4. Vaultwarden

  1. Open the self-hosted Vaultwarden browser extension.
  2. Go to Settings > Vault options > Export Vault.
  3. Export the encrypted JSON file to the backup folder.
  4. Export the non-encrypted JSON file to a temporary location.
  5. Sign in to https://vault.bitwarden.com/ (not self-hosted).
  6. Delete all saved passwords.
  7. Click Import, select the non-encrypted JSON file, and proceed.
  8. Delete old passwords from the trash.
  9. Delete the non-encrypted JSON file from the temporary location.

5. Radicale

  1. Log in to the self-hosted Radicale server.
  2. Download the following files:
  3. Calendar.ics
  4. Contacts.vcf
  5. Reminders.ics
  6. Log in to iCloud:
  7. Select all contacts and delete them.
  8. Click the + icon in the top-right corner and select Import.
  9. Import the Contacts.vcf file.
  10. Log in to Google Contacts:
  11. Delete all contacts.
  12. Click Import, select the Contacts.vcf file, and import without assigning a label.

6. Streamlit Database Backup

  1. Open Streamlit locally or visit https://streamlit.dembi.xyz.
  2. Select Timestamp from the dropdown menu.
  3. Select Previous Entries (Raw), click Download CSV, and save to the backup folder.
  4. Select Previous Entries (Cleaned), click Download CSV, and save to the backup folder.

7. Bookmarks

  1. Open Brave Browser in the "Sid Main" profile.
  2. Go to Settings > Bookmarks.
  3. Click the three dots in the top-right corner and select Export.
  4. Save the file to the backup destination.
  5. Repeat for the "Sid Study" and "thelyinglama" profiles.

8. Music

  1. Paste the playlist link into MeTube.
  2. Copy downloaded songs to their respective playlist folders (e.g., English songs to the "English" folder).
  3. SSH into media VM: ssh media
  4. Navigate to scripts directory and run music script: cd /home/media/scripts/music && ./music.sh
  5. Restart the Navidrome Docker container.

9. Router

  1. Access the router gateway: http://192.168.1.254
  2. Navigate to Maintenance > Backup and Restore > Export.

10. Photos

  1. Upload all photos from iPhone/Pixel to TrueNAS.
  2. Delete all photos from the iPhone/Pixel gallery.

11. Health, Blogs, and Text Files

  1. Copy files from the following directories to the backup folder: /media/truenas/media/Sid/Blogs /media/truenas/media/Sid/Server /media/truenas/media/Sid/Health

12. TrueNAS to Raspberry Pi

  1. Copy folders from TrueNAS to Raspberry Pi:
  2. Siddhu folder to pi > first
  3. Media folder to pi > external
  4. Audio folder to pi > external
  5. Backups folder to pi > second
  6. Click Merge to combine folders.

13. VM Backup

  1. Transfer VM backup from Raspberry Pi to TrueNAS.
  2. Transfer contents of the dump folder from pi > second to truenas > dump.

14. Password File

  1. Copy the password (PW) file to the backup destination.

15. TrueNAS to OneDrive

Backup

  1. Upload the backup folder from TrueNAS to OneDrive using Safari for stability.
  2. Do not upload ISO images inside the backup folder.

Photos

  1. Upload new photos from TrueNAS to OneDrive.

16. Snapshots

  1. Create snapshots of each VM.

17. Docker Images

Update Docker Services via Portainer

  1. Visit Portainer: https://192.168.1.32:9443/#!/3/docker/containers
  2. Open a container (e.g., n8n).
  3. Stop the container.
  4. Recreate the container with Repull image and Recreate enabled.
  5. Remove unused images.

Update SMTP Mailcow

  1. SSH into SMTP server: ssh smtp
  2. Navigate to mailcow directory and update: cd /opt/mailcow-dockerized/ && sudo ./update.sh

18. Mac Brew

  1. Update and upgrade Homebrew: brew update && brew upgrade

19. Parents' Photos Backup

  1. Export Google Photos once every 6 months.
